Cannot create new players

Oki, I am obviously running a CircleMud to begin with.  My problem
is that there was an initial set of about 6 players that I was using
while I was testing the mud.  Well now I treid to add some more new
players, and I am always told invalid name, no matter what the
name might be.  I have no problem using the names of the characters 
already created, and the wizlock is off.  Any deas as to what might
be wrong?
