um ok
I know how patches work
butta
I tryed installing mobprog.patch and got this stuff
buffnet4:~/circle30bpl8/src$ patch < mobprog.patch
Hmm... Looks like a new-style context diff to me...
The text leading up to this was:
[snip]
--------------------------
|diff -acN oldsrc/Makefile src/Makefile
|*** oldsrc/Makefile Wed May 24 05:49:37 1995
|--- src/Makefile Sun Aug 6 09:14:24 1995
--------------------------
Patching file Makefile using Plan A...
Reversed (or previously applied) patch detected! Assume -R? [y] y
Hunk #1 succeeded at 36.
Hunk #2 succeeded at 169.
Hmm... The next patch looks like a new-style context diff to me...
The text leading up to this was:
--------------------------
|diff -acN oldsrc/act.comm.c src/act.comm.c
|*** oldsrc/act.comm.c Tue May 23 10:47:47 1995
|--- src/act.comm.c Sun Aug 6 09:13:50 1995
--------------------------
Patching file act.comm.c using Plan A...
[snip]

does this mean I need a new version of patch ?
I do not know where to get this if thats the case

this stuff resulted in lots of compiler errors but the mud ran normally
except that noone of the new stuff the patch added worked at all

I had to delete all my c files and reinstal the stock version with a tar
xvfk trick I have been useing
