We basically worked out a deal with an ISP to provide a service to their customers in exchange for a machine to run it on (we lucked out and got a sun with 96 megs of ram and a domain name alias along with it ;) ). This is a a decent way to weasel a site but depends a lot on luck and the sys admins view of muds. You might wish to take a look at some of the alt news group for internet service providers.
