Many zones in the bigger muds only get used when there are big enough groups on to be able to kick butt in them, so why keep them in memory the whole time? Objects may be a problem though. If players own objects that are defined in a zone that is swapped out, that could get messy. Guess you could keep the object prototypes in memory and check for them when reloading the zones, or something. Would take some trixie coding however you do it. My two pieces of eight. Rv.
