Wow I've never seen or heard of that.  I can see how that could easily 
get out of hand.  What if mobs who made a few kills gained levels, and 
with those levels came more barehand damage dice?  After all, if PC's get 
better as they gain exp, I think mobs should too :)

Sure but use coders just have to be sneakier :)
