Hi I'm a newbie mud writer, and seem to have collapsed in a deadful heap at the first hurdle :( Promise you wont laugh? Ok.....I cant seem to add patches to my base circle30bpl11 code (you promised you would'nt laugh!!!) I downloaded a big patchfile, and gunzipped it then untarred it. It is in circle/patched/patched.src I then typed the following command in the src directory of my circle code; patch</circle/patched/patched.src and got the message: hmm... i can't seem to find a patch file (or some similar message, i forget exactly) i am a total beginner at unix , and would be very grateful if some kind soul could help me here :P Amoeba aka Alex Scott (coding Perculiar People Mud) P.S. I hate having to delete all the other stuff in the directory first....
