Here's on possibility given 10 seconds thought:

OLC was coined by someone who called his builders "Creators"

This enabled OnLine Creation

Besides MS made OLE into something that you wouldn't want your stuff
confused with in the beginnings.. though that was after diku was conceived I
think.
