I've read it quite often, and previously had to sign off to have things
incorporated into emacs. I'm well aware of it's wording, past and

The original Diku "license" does not make it proprietary in anything except
maybe the dictionary equivalent of the word. This discussion has been
hashed and rehashed often enough, but don't think that the diku license has
etched within legal stone, it's not.

extracted from the mt19937.c

/* This library is free software; you can redistribute it and/or */
/* modify it under the terms of the GNU Library General Public */
/* License as published by the Free Software Foundation; either */
/* version 2 of the License, or (at your option) any later */
/* version.                                                        */

There is more than one "GPL". Did you actually _look_ at the source before
jumping to the age old status quo argument?
