Affect Update

 Does anyone know whyin the affect_updat funct there is an if-clause
 checking for the af->type to be in the MAX_SPELLS range ?
 There are also skills which give affections and that must be checked evry
 tick, so why are these skills excluded ?
 And why does the whole thing work anyway ?
