He may be using onboard video(Mine draws straight from the RAM when
activated).  As to the problem, I don't know if this is very valid as I
haven't used all of VC++'s features, could he be using some activex
control in there for sound on accident?  That could make it tie up the
sound card whenever the MUD's running....
