Dragon's Fang has done it, and if you search on Google or something, I am
sure that you will be able to find their source out there.

One thing you need to think about: XML libraries and parsing eats a lot of
memory.  I suggest you look at a "real" database instead, such as MySQL or
PostgreSQL.
