_______________________ | WinSign 1.0a | | Joe DiLascio | | | ----------------------- || || || \-^/\^-/\/ Files Included: - WinSign.cpp: Source Code - WinSign.exe: Binary executable - WinSign.ico/bmp: Just a little icon I made for my shortcut :) - asign.txt: Test sign file - various: MSVC Project files, etc. - winsign.readme: Yer lookin' at it Info: Heh, of all the non-ported files in the 'util' directory, this was the only I felt compelled to Window-fy. It took about 10 minutes to cut, paste, edit, and debug this whole thing... so I'm not about to say "My name and likeness must be on your mud's login screen and credits, and a shrine must be built to me in Room 666 of your mud". I would appreciate feedback, comments, etc. though :) Heck, even let me know if you port any other utils/etc. to Win32. New in this version: Fixed bug that caused sign only to be posted once per session. *duh* Removed some unnecessary files from zip distribution. Usage: The program is called with two parameters: the port number, and a text source (either a file name or '-' signifying stdin). The most efficient way (I believe) to make use of this utility is through a shortcut (mine's on the desktop) in which you can include the port and file specifiers on the 'Target:' line (and assign the shortcut that nifty icon :). **NOTE**: If you choose to rebuild the executable, make sure that the #include lines match where your Circle headers are (mine were 2 dirs down). The Future...? I may get around to converting this to a dialog and/or systray app... Maybe even Circle itself (DOS windows eat up resources). Feel free to mail with thoughts, etc... Requests for other Windows adaptations/docs/how-tos MIGHT be considered.. just remember I reserve the right to do nothing :) Until whenever... JD
