I believe the place you're looking for is the nanny() function, which 
takes care of all non-standard input--but I may be wrong.  Anybody care 
to confirm this?

I'm not sure I understand you fully.  If you want to change the symbol 
from whatever it is to an @, just find it (I think it's a . on a newline 
currently.)
