Quick question about worn objects.

Is there any way to get the weight of an object that is being worn?
I've tried using:
obj = GET_EQ(ch, position);
weight = GET_OBJ_WEIGHT(obj);

but that doesn't work, so I'm kinda stumped.  Thanks in advance.
