Patching Problem

I posted this message a few weeks ago to this list and never received
a reply, so I am going to try again.

I am currently running pl9 on my MUD, however, I would like to upgrade to
pl10.  My problem is that I am not that familiar with the whole process
of /patching/.  Could someone please explain to me how exactly it is done.
I have the file in mycircleMUD root directory (the pl9-pl10 file), but
I just don't know what to do with it.

Thanks a lot, any help would be appreciated.
