There is Linux and FreeBSD
FreeBSD JUST came out with 2.1.5 so its the newer of the two.  Though
FreeBSD loves new versions so that dosn't mean much... They are hand in hand
for most things you are going to do.  They of course are both free so you
might just try them both and pick for yourself:)
