InterMUD does it without the same codebase. Such a similiar approach may
help. Although since the player is connected to your MUD, you'd have to
forward all the information to the new server. This is where a separate
client/server would help so that the MUD client would send the information
to the correct MUD server.
Which would also end up making a one-stop-MUD-connection port where you can
pick which MUD to play on with a character...that would be cool.
