Nope, no SYSERR is correct, it is an ERROR.
I assume you have the auto-equip patch!  This is a well talked about
problem from probably 10 months ago.  I can't for the life of me how I
fixed it!  Start in interpreter.c perhaps.

Back to the auto-equip again probably!  Make sure in your
void_autoequip you have put a case for your new item type.
