With this bug, you can crash ANY Mud that has installed OasisOLC,
I am not sure on which patches thou....Here is your bug:
Go to either set your description, write mail, or write on the board.
(If your an immortal OLC)
(In Description)
Anyhow, paste about 4-5 screens worth of misc. characters,
You will get a message like this:
String too long, limit reached on message. Last line ignored.
Just ignore that....
Once either 1 the mud crashes, or 2 nothing happens, type /s to save
then attempt to enter the game, this will either crash or let you in...if you make it in
You will have 1 of 3 things happen:
1) you will lose your name completely...
2) your stats etc will be completely FUBARed
3) you will 'accidently' cause a pretty little pwipe of the next character in the list
Quick fix:For both goto modify.c
find the line with String too long, limit reached on message. Last line ignored.
nex uncomment the terminator = 1
So, if you were just 'incredibly' smart enough to just patch in the code without reading, I would
suggest learning from your mistakes...
