[CODE] Finding word in string

Hello everyone...
I know I put this question in my last mail under an Offtopic, but
it is just too important for me to be left out.

If I see a string like this when I look into a room:

A small elven female with blossoms in her hair is standing here.

and if I type "kill elven", "kill female", or anything that is a part
of that persons' appearance, what should I use to locate the argument
in the person's title? I've tried strstr, strcmp, and is_abbrev, but
nothing worked. The MUD crashed 25% of the time.

Please help me.....would appreciate it and release an Appearance patch
in the near future.
