[MSVC++] Making Circle using MSVC++

Hi all.

I am trying to compile bpl14 of Circle in Win95 using MSVC++ 5.0. I am
following the
win95.txt instructions, found @
ftp://ftp.circlemud.org/pub/CircleMUD/docs/3.x/win95.txt.

So far, I have downloaded and unzipped circleMUD, and added c:\dev\vc\bin
(the binaries
directory of VC) to my PATH. I have also copied Makefile.win over Makefile,
and changed
the C:\MSDEV\ to C:\DEV\ respectively. The instructions then say to run
'nmake', but when
I do (this is all from the MS-DOS prompt in Win95 btw) I get the following
error output:

>Microsoft (R) Program Maintenance Utility. Version 1.62.7022
>Copyright (C) Microsoft Corp 1988-1997. All rights reserved.
>
> cl -c /nologo /I. /IC:\DEV\INCLUDE comm.c
>NMAKE : fatal error U1045: spawn failed : Invalid arugument
>
>Stop.
>

And that's it. I am new to compiling Circle in windows 95, so any help would
be appreciated.

Thanks,

Andrew Ritchie.
