write a short C program and do a sizeof() on various variables,
printing out the results. The result is in bytes, not bits.

You know.. I have coded muds for a few years now and I actually have
never figured out what is the maximum number that can fit in a long
or long long variable. Any ideas?
This would be using gcc on a x86 running linux.
Thanks
Mike..
