GNU C++ Strings

Greetings,

I'm writing to ask a few questions:

1) What are people's opinions on replacing char[]s with the GNU C++ String
class?

2) Where can I find information regarding this class? E.g., member
function references, etc. I have searched on the machine that our MUD is
hosted on, and I have searched the internet, and the best I've been able to
come up with is a 5-year-old reference to the String class, which I suspect
may be outdated. If there are any MUDs out there that have utilised the
String class, perhaps you could help us out with this problem.

Thank you for your time,

Jon A. Nielsen
