Has anyone successfully implemented the arena feature in CircleMUD bpl17?

The current arena snippets in the contrib directory require a LOT of
changing to be compliant with bpl17, or at least the MUD I run (which is
bpl17).

If anyone has manually coded in arena, or has a working snippet/patch for
bpl17, please do share this.  I couldn't find anything in the WTFAQ or
archives about this.
