Where did you hear alot of reference to this?
As far as I know, there isn't very much collaboration between muds
even of the same code base, much less the heterogenous collection of 'all
the muds'. This means that it wouldn't have been a planned event, but
some sort of physical thing?
Hard to do too, cause that'd assume that a problem happened on a
global scale affecting all network & telephone (internet bbs's which are
accessable via phone) networks (not just the backbones, but all the small
subnets as well - university, etc).
So, chances are this is probably a local event - like the set of
players which play on a given set of muds noticed that one night, all
their commonly-played muds were down/inaccessable.
Of course, I'm guessing. I've never heard of such a thing, but
perhaps I'm just out of the loop.
