That had a built-in assumption that the single room was your start room
since it's rather hard to put it anywhere else otherwise.

You could technically get away without a mob, object, or shop so long as
you never used anything that accessed (mob|obj)_(proto|index) ... except I
think heartbeat() uses them so you'd lose and have to change the code
anyway. :)
