It serves to help log and trace unsuccessfull hacking attempts.

Why, do you really want to wait until a potential hacker is successfull
to find out about it?

grep for the log message to find out where it occurs in the code,
tweaking and modifying it to display only under ceartain circumstances
should be fairly easy once you find it.
