Heh. As I said, it's a redhat quirk. I get that with a stock bpl17
compile under the 7.x releases from redhat. The redhat compiler is just
a bit tweaked and "normal" code just doesn't work quite right. One thing
that could be tried (I haven't yet, going to have to) is using the
"kgcc" compiler that redhat includes for kernel compiles as their
compiler can't properly compile the linux kernel.
