Installshield?  Wow.  That'd cut us down to one OS.

Linux RPM installs will cut us down to another.  And not even all versions
of that OS.

Sun packages will limit us again, etc.

gzip/zip are the most generic things possible.  You can unpack one or the
other (or both) on _any_ OS out there.  Any.
