Somebody did (and I'm kicking myself for deleteing it) mail some stock 
code which shows at least one signifigant thing done at login.  The 
player's rent condition is changed from whatever it is to crash rent.  
That way if the game crashes before that individual saves, he is crash 
rented as opposed to continuing his previous rent condition.

Is the reason you are asking because you want to remove the code which 
saves at login (thinking it useless and wasteful)?  Perhaps you could 
remove it, but I don't see it as _that_ wasteful even if the rent 
condition is the _only_ thing changed.  (I have a feeling other things 
change as well.)
