Several MUDs use the MUD Sound Protocol (MSP) which is compatible with zMUD
and a few other clients. You can get MSP information at the zMUD website.
As for details behind implementing it on your MUD, I haven't heard anything
about it. I imagine you would use something similar to the color command.
color { Off | Sparse | Normal | Complete }
vs.
sound { Off | Sparse | Normal | Complete }
