Re: Circlemud/diku Licence [Hmm!]

Wow, that was a breath and a half of inqueries! =P
Those are all valid questions that I wouldn't mind hearing answers
to myself. I've read the agreement a few times over the years, and
will admit, it has been quite awhile since I refreshed myself on it,
however, personally, I would think that if the CircleMud License agreement

1) You must not use CircleMUD to make money or be compensated in any way.

That generally that means, using Circlemud commercially as a pay to
play type deal is illegal or that if you use the "circlemud" code
to intentionally bait/switch surfers, that would also be a violation.
Personally I see no reason as to why you couldn't add links to your
website with advertisements, or sell Tshirts having to do with your
Mud theme.. However, I'm not a lawyer so who knows.

However, how in depth into that statement shall we
delve? I've seen Mud's post banners and make money on their website,
sell T-shirts with their mud logos on them, etc etc.. Making sure to
leave no mention of Circlemud upon them however, as well as coffee Mugs,
or whatever else they choose to advertise for sales..

So to reiterate on my own personal inquery into this matter,
say for instance, I'd like to make T-shirts that say "Vagabond" or
"Vagabond Mud" and add some kewl picture behind the words. Then I
put an option to order one from our website on the page, would I
indeed be violating the agreement, or would I merely be exercising
rights to free enterprise? Which also raises the question as to
where the legality issues directly extend to, in the United States?
Sweden? Internationally?
