I'm planning on mine (when/if I get it done enough to come up) to make
shop prices relative to a person's charisma.
I have seen muds where the shops base their price on a random multiplier
instead of the fixed on for the SHP file. Thus, on every boot, the prices
of items fluxuate up and down within about +/- 50% or so.
