I just think this is way too extreme.  I mean...if I did anything
remotely like this on my mud, the single command of get rock would
send_to_char
"You sheath your <weapon>, get the <item>, put the <item> in your
<container> and unsheath your <weapon>"

It's just as realistic and not a pain for the player :)
