[newbie]compile error

i am trying to use the EXITN macro from within act.informative.c
upon compiling i get this warning message :

warning : implicit declaration of EXITN in act.informative.c

the compiler then lists the files its using to make circle as usual, but=
  =20
at the end it gives this:

ld: Undefined symbol
   _EXITN
collect2: ld returned 2 exit status
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `../bin/circle'
Current working directory /export/home/cjb/circle30bpl12/src
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `circle'

can anyone suggest what the problem is?
