        make with an unlimited number of discrete jobs (ie, usually it
'make's one thing at a time ... this tries to compile all files at once.).

        Good to drive the load up on just about any machine. If you share
the machine with other people, I'd recommend not doing it. A p200 with 128
megs has (for a short time) loads of around 20.  A sun Ultra2-sparc (300
mhz, 1 gig of memory) only goes up to 1.2-1.6 ish.. but i've never before
in my life seen that go above 1.
