before you start asking questions on how to do your first coding project
please ftp to cambot.res.jhu.edu
cd /pub/CircleMud/list
mget *.gz
(you had better know where to go from here)

these are the archives of this list for the past two years. Most questions
like How to I add skills? How to I give newbies eq? How do I add levels?
and a bunch of others have already been answered 3 times.

as to where to start looking in the code, type "man grep" at your prompt.
it is extremely useful. If you don't want to look in man pages and help
yourself most people don't want to help you. The code may seem monolithic,
but the only way to really get to know how it works is to read the damn
thing. will show you lots of short cuts at the same time.

If you are going to flame people for stupid questions. either send it
directly to them, or at least have a note as to where to get help in it.
No one wants to have their box filled with flames.

Oh... just noticed, there is something calles lost lands sitting in the
submissions dir of cambot... it is dated nov 14th... no idea what it is yet.
