[Circle] Problem with races

OK...our coder just finished adding the races from race.doc...said he has 
trouble compiling....here's the error we get:

Makefile:1 warning: NUL character seen; rest of line ignored
Makefile:1 *** missing seperator.  Stop.

Any ideas on how to fix this?
